5 actions to prepare for your card reading to get meaningful results
Tarot, Angel, and Oracle card readings often hold a fascination to many but many don’t take the first steps to getting one done as they don’t know where to start. Let’s go over 5 things you should do to prepare for a card reading so that you can make the most of your experience.
In movies, a card reader predicts the future husband who shows up in the next scene or some tragic event the main character must work though. I’ve always been interested in getting a card readings but something was holding me back. I was worried how I would deal with something I didn’t want to hear. I was also nervous about this very personal experience with a total stranger.
Fate brought me to Jaya-Leigh Connects. Jaya-Leigh is a leader in the field of healing arts. She specializes in clearing karmic patterns from past lives that may be keeping you stuck in this one. She did a one card Spirt Card Reading for me which used an Animal Medicine deck to help me discover what animal is currently guiding, supporting and bringing me a message. It was as if Jaya-Leigh read my soul. Her message to me was so intimate and rang true to me on so many levels. It was exactly what I needed to hear and at the exactly the right time. It was like a divine message to me to help me move to the next level of my journey. I was also offered an audio recording of the session, which has been a blessing to be able to listen to and really take in and digest the meaning.
I really got a lot out of my experience and you can too. Consider these five actions before your reading to get the most out of the experience:
Read the ‘About’ page of the tarot card reader you are considering and see their story about how they came about to being a tarot card reader. Trust your instinct. Look at their website, check out their Instagram, or give them a call and see if you feel a personal connection. If you have reservations, then wait to book a session. Ask around and see if your family or friends have any recommendations.
2. Get the details
When you are booking, find out the details about what you are getting. How long can you expect the reading to be? What kind of deck are they using? How many cards will they draw? If it’s not in-person, do you get a recording of the session? If you ask a few questions about the details of the session, you’ll have a better feel for what to expect and then can focus on enjoying the experience.
3. Don't expect easy solutions
Your card reading isn’t going to predict your winning lottery numbers or tell you the first and last name of a future partner. Your reading can tell you where you were, where you are, and what events may happen if you make no change in your path. Before your reading, take some time to reflect on what you want to get out of the experience. Think about what questions you have and what you want covered in your reading. Remember that the reading if more about reveling different choices and possible outcomes – so don’t be scared! You make your own fate and with a good card reading you are more prepared to get the outcome in life you desire. Be sure to give yourself time to reflect and process your reading.
4. Keep an open mind
While you may prepare what you want covered, also be open for the reading to go in the direction it needs to. You know yourself better than the reader but they know the cards better than you. The cards may be showing you something that you didn’t even know you should be focusing on. Allow the reader to do their job and lead the reading where it needs to go – sometimes it’s about questions or concepts you should ponder.
5. Get ready to feel empowered
Having a card reading can be very empowering. Card readings helps us see that the future is not set in stone or static but there are different potentials and possibilities depending on how direct your path. This can be a wonderful feeling! You have the power to shift gears and be in control and direct your life where you want it to go. Give your self time to reflect and process the messages given to you.
I hope these five things help you get ready for your first card reading! I had a magical experience with Jaya-Leigh and I highly recommend her, especially since your location isn’t an issue as she can do your reading over Skype, Facetime, or phone. Whoever you decide to go with, take these tips into consideration when preparing for your experience to help you find exactly what you are looking for!
Love and light,
